For the first time Lena was actually glad that her aunt was working late. Even though she probably wouldn't have been much of a bother or anything, it still made things easier. "I'm sure we'll be spending plenty of time together, so I'm sure we can clear some time to write together."
she replied with a chuckle. Thinking about school, there weren't really a lot of subjects that Lena actually liked. Just English, maybe some History and Science, but only if she got to blow up some test tubes, otherwise it was all boring. "School is boring. Period. Unfortunately we're gonna have to deal with it anyways." she shrugged. People often thought Lena liked school cause she was in so many AP classes. But she didn't really, she just did her best, so she could actually get her diploma and get things over with. She grinned at his joke. "We're gonna be the next generation of action heroes, ready to conquer the world!" she played along, laughing softly. When he asked if she got along with her parents, her mouth hung open for a second, since she hadn't been expecting that question. Though she replied, by nodding her head with a light smile. "I got along fairly well with them. Of course we had the usual arguments, like every kid has with their parents. But in the end they knew I loved them, and I know they loved me." she replied, her smile turning slightly sad, as her eyes glanced away from his, to look down at her hands. "It's a good thing though." she said, referring to his sister. "I'd be worried too if my only sibling was out and I had no clue where they were, or who they were hanging out with. You need someone to look out for you. Like I'm sure you look out for her as well." she said, feeling almost jealous of the fact that she didn't have a sibling around to wonder about her. She couldn't help but blush when he picked up her hand and planted a quick peck on it. "The honor will be mine, sir." she replied in a fake posh accent, giving him a slight bow, before laughing, unable to keep a straight face for any longer. She pondered over his next words, tilting her head slightly. "Does that mean you're gonna be here every time I order a pizza?" she asked, quite liking that idea, actually. She grinned slightly when she realized that he hadn't caught onto the fact, that she had referred to him. "no, no, definitely not someone from back home." she replied. She didn't have a boyfriend back in California, not even a guy she was remotely in to. She smiled slightly at his words, as she lifted up her head, to look at him "You should really stop being so ridiculously cute, cause.." she started off, before everything went black and she found herself letting out a yelp, as she clung onto Nate. Soon enough another round of thunder roared in the sky. Great... they had lost power. "D-do you have your phone...?" she whispered, clearly scared, though she knew any cellphone gave at least some light, which was better than the pitch black dark they were in right now. Nate was glad it was only the first day back, and cause he was in the normal classes, his homework usually was extended for two days. Looks like he'd have to cram it all in tomorrow since he was going to be staying at Lena's for a while. "Seriously, we have so many different things planned, we'll be with each other non-stop," he smiled towards her, he said it light-heartedly so she knew he was not complaining in the slightest. Nate shighed since they were still talking about school, "Agreed, that's why I have no idea what I'm going to do if I go to college," he grumbled. He could major in music, and just get into music that way, that was an option. But he'd hate to be in the background in the music business, it'd only make him jealous. "Watch out world, Nate and El-Vee are coming to get ya!" he laughed. This was so unlike Nate; he'd never let himself go as much as this in such a short time period.
Nate felt a bit bad asking that question. Rude even. But felt relieved when she did answer his question, which was then replaced with a tinge of jealousy. But he shook his head of those thoughts; most children got along with their parents. "I'm glad, I'm sure they were great; I would have liked to meet them," he replied, hoping that wouldn't upset her, and instead comfort her. He nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I love my relationship with my sister," he smiled, then laughed, "Mhmm, you could say that. I'm a pretty protective person," he bit his lip in response.
Nate was glad when she went along with his joke, and blushed also to match. He also couldn't help but laugh when she bowed and laughed too. He bit his lip at her next question, "Maybe. Well unless that's completely rude that I've just invited myself back into your house," he grinned cheekily. He would come back to spend more time with her any time she wanted. He let out a short breath when she said it wasn't someone from back home. Without sounding completely bigheaded he wondered, she hadn't met anyone else here she'd said before right? That meant she was referring to him then? "Well that guy is interested in you also," he replied, trying to sound casual, even though he was completely quaking in his shoes. Before he could reply to her next statement, it went black. Like pitch black. Power cut, great. Luckily, Nate was only scared of spiders and nothing else, so he was able to protect Lena thoroughly. At least the film had turned off also. He heard her question and pulled his phone out of his pocket, and flashed the home screen on and a picture of his sister and him shone out. He instantly flushed, what guy has a picture of him and his sister on his phone background? Normal guys would have a car or something plain like that. But not Nate, he had to be the sentimental one. He realised he couldn't put it away however, as it was their only source of light so faced it forward away from their faces instead. "Uhm, does your aunt have any candles or torches?" he asked quickly.

Lena's teachers had actually been rather lenient with their homework assignments, she only had a paper due for History.. due tomorrow, but the others either gave no homework for it was the first day, or she had a few days to finish it. Which she was very grateful for, considering it looked like she would be rather occupied for the time being. "Maybe you should considering moving in with me."
she said, keeping her face straight, though she had meant it as a joke, she didn't actually expect him to. "Well. there has to be something you like, other than music.." she said, knowing it was hard to pick what you wanted to do for the rest of your life. She wasn't even sure herself, but she had some vague ideas. "I'm sure my mom would love you. My dad would just be snarky, but he was that way with any guy that close to me." she said with a chuckle. Her dad actually managed to scare away a few guys, and then there were the group of guys who he saw as potential husbands or something, there was no middle way for him. She grinned a little when he said he was a protective guy. She hadn't seen that one coming, after the whole ordeal with the pizza guy... note to sarcasm. Though she had to admit that she liked it. She had never had anyone, besides her parents, who were protective of her. And she needed some people who would be willing to fight for her when it came down to it. Sure she liked to think she was an independent girl, but she was seventeen, she needed people like Nate in her life. "I like that." she replied simply, shooting him a smile. Lena smiled and shook her head in response. "You can invite yourself into my house anytime." she smiled. Meaning every word of it, even if he would come barging in in the middle of the night, though she doubted that would happen. Butterflies roamed wildly through her stomach when he said that he was interested in her as well, a blush rose to her cheeks, that he had figured out that she had indeed been referring to him. "Maybe you can tell that guy that I'm flattered?" she said, a small smile on her face, while her insides felt like they were about to explode at any moment now. The background on his phone, brought a light smile on her face, as she nodded her head to his question. "light the way." she said softly, before crawling away from the safety of his body and walking over to a closet, trying her best not to bump into anything. She quickly pulled out some candles and a lighter, as she placed them on the coffee table and lit them, before picking up a few candles, moving them around the room, so it wasn't just the table that had light. "If I didn't know any better I'd say this looks like a romantic date." she blurted out, before walking back to the couch, plopping down next to him again. Nate knew also that he'd have to sacrifice has guitar session tonight and tomorrow night as he'd be completely occupied. And if Olivia asked him to help out at the animal shelter he'd have to turn her down as he'd be too busy. Nate frowned at her suggestion though, she'd suggested it like she was serious. He didn't want to hurt her feelings so made a joke out of it nevertheless, "With your two new dogs there'll be no room for me," he said, "And I can't leave Olivia to fend for herself anyway," he added to the joke. Obviously Liv could look after herself, but he didn't want her to all the same. Nate shook his head, "I genuinely have no idea; I really need to go talk to someone at school about it," he wondered outloud, he would take any help he could get.
He smiled at her first comment, "That's good," he said with a soft smile. He tried to imagine Lena's mother, but could only see an older version of Lena, he'd have to live with that. "Understandable, it must be hard seeing your daughter grow up," he said nodding in thought. So she thought they were going to be close, he agreed, Nate wanted them to be close too. He wanted to protect Lena, but not in a completely possessive way, so he was glad she liked that. "Good, cause I can see myself getting very protective of you,"he admitted slowly. Everything he said he was second guessing himself, was it too soon to admit something like that?
Even though she said he could, Nate never would invite himself over. That was just too rude, and unlike him. He'd wait for her, but still it was nice to know he was welcome, "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," he replied simply. He smiled at her reaction; she was adorable. With her blush, he couldn't help but blush also. "I'll be sure to pass on the message," he replied then paused for a few seconds, "Yep, he says 'Anytime'," he replied shortly after, with a small smirk on his face. Flirting yet again. As she moved away to look in a cupboard he shone his phone in her direction. She returned with some candles and placed them on the table. As she sat down he laughed at her comment, "Yeah, I totally set this whole thing up," he grinned, "Storm n'all," he joked, whilst watching the blaze of candle light bounce off her skin.

Perfect answer, she thought to herself, as she pretended to be sad and throwing him her best puppy eyes. "Good point. Guess me and my dogs are doomed to be alone."
she said dramatically. Lena wasn't a very good actress though, her eyes always gave away how she was really feeling, and it was hard for her to suppress a smile. "Right... darn your sister." she joked, hoping he would actually notice she was joking, rather than get mad at her or something, that was the last thing she wanted. "Maybe you should. Or maybe you should try one of those tests on the internet, to find your 'ultimate' job." she said, with a light roll of her eyes. "I doubt that those work though, one of those tests once told me I should run a funeral house.." she said, shuddering at the mere thought of it. No way was she going to end up doing that, ever. That's what her mother used to say. That her father may act tough some times, but it was all cause he didn't want to see his little girl grow up. She smiled slightly at the memory, as she turned back to Nate. "You really aren't anything like your father." she said softly, not quite meaning for him to hear it, but she was pretty sure he had anyways. Her smile grew when he said he could see himself being protective of her, which made her blush. "I would like to say the same.. and I'm sure I will be.. but unfortunately my size doesn't impress a lot of people." she joked, before biting back on her lip, as she looked up at him. "I would really appreciate it though." she said shyly, feeling bad about admitting that she'd need someone to protect her in the first place. Lena could take care of herself , she knew that. But it felt that nice that other people cared for her too. If her aunt were to waltz through the door right now, Lena was sure she would have a heart attack, with all the candles and she was probably sitting a little closer to him than was necessary. Good thing she'd be stuck in work for at least another few hours. She couldn't help but grin at his joke. "Ohh can you also let him know, that talking in third person makes him a total geek." she said with a smirk. "An oddly adorable one though." she muttered, biting on her lower lip. She laughed when he said he had set this whole thing up. "Nice work.. must be the most special thing anyone has ever done to me." she grinned. "What's the next step in your big masterplan though?" she asked, playing along with his joke. Nate laughed at her reaction, dogs were supposed to be good company right? Man's best friend and all that. "And your Aunt remember?" he conitnued the joke, "And I'll visit as much as I can," he grinned cheekily. Nate really did at her next comment, "I dare you to say that to her face!" he joked. Sure Olivia wasn't really that threatening, well to Nate she wasn't anyway. But Lena had never met Olivia before, and so she would obviously want to make a good impression. Nate had never actyually felt the need to introduce any girls to Olivia before. Lena would be the first, and yes, he was nervous of this fact. He laughed; Lena a funeral worker? Nope, he couldn't see it at all. He had already done one of those tests before too, "Yeah, mine seemed to think I would make a great Hypnotist," he shrugged, all he could imagine was a room covered in colorful curtains, and Nate in a velvet cape. No thanks.
Nate beamed down at her as she said he wasn't like his father at all. "Thanks, that means a lot," he mumbled quietly, though he really was grateful. He couldn't imagine himself being anything like his father anyway. Who could do that to anyone, never mind your wife, or children. Almost. His father had never actually hit him, but there was so many times he almost did, and just the threat of it was bad enough. He smiled, and agreed, Lena wasn't at all that threatening. But he was sure she could stik up for herself and those around them, "I'll do the protecting for the both of us then?" he said, "And hey, it's the thought that counts," he added with a small smile. He nodded at her later statement, he'd always be there for her now. He cared for her.
Nate was a little worried though. Not cause of the fact it was pitch black, and there was a raging storm outside; but cause of Lena's Aunt. If she walked in right now, she'd probably be pretty shocked. Candles surrounding them, and the fact that Lena was sitting very close to him; not that he was complaining. Sure they'd have a good excuse, the storm, but it still worried Nate. "Yeah, he should really stop doing that huh?" he joked, "But with compliments like that, he doesn't think he will," he shrugged cheekily, seeing how long this would last. He loved winding people up, just to see how long they'd last until they'd finally snap. "Good, wouldn't wanting anyone topping my amazing plan," he winked, even though he doubted Lena would see him in the dim light. He pondered for a moment. "Okay, next, I'm guna.." he said slowly, leaning closer to her. The faces were inching towards each other. Oh this was too easy. Just before he got too close, he quickly moved his face past her and reached out, "Take this pizze slice, and eat it," he said asking piece, taking a bite whilst leaning back in the chair. Wow, he was such a tease.

"Are you laughing at me?!"
she asked, giving a fake pout, before grinning. "Right, aunt Jenna... well she's rarely around, her hospital job gives her these crazy work schedules." she shrugged. When he said he'd visit as often as he could, she smiled and nodded her head. Now that was something she could get used to. Lena was quick to shake her head when he dared her to actually say that to Olivia. "Uhmm.. no! She's supposed to like me... not kill me." she said with a soft laugh. Though, besides she hadn't meant it anyways. At the thought of Nate working as a hypnotist, she couldn't help but laugh. The thought of seeing him with long hair, eyeliner and a cape... no way. "Hypnotists are freaky... I'd never let someone hypnotize me.." she said, the thought of never waking up, it just freaked her out. No, it would take a lot more to hypnotize a girl like Lena. She gave him a warm smile. "It's not just your father.. you're different from most of the guys our age. I was starting to think your kind was extinct." she said with a small chuckle. Lena really hated violence, she had a great disrespect for men who hit women, or their own children, it was just sick. Lena didn't know what she would have done if she was in the situation that Nate was in. She nodded when he said he'd do the protecting for the both of them. "That sounds like a plan." she agreed. She honestly didn't know what she would do if someone hurt him, she could be pretty impressive when she was angry, and she knew it would upset her if she saw Nathaniel upset. Lena may be a petite girl, but she could have a big mouth when time asked for it. Though it wasn't really in her nature. Lena wondered when the storm would slow down, it still seemed pretty aggressive, though it was starting to get late. When he continued talking in third person, she tilted her head, giving him a pointed look, though a grin still managed to break out on her face. "He definitely should, now it's just becoming unattractive." she joked. Gah, who was she kidding? Nothing could make him look unattractive. Lena shook her head and grinned when he said he didn't want anyone to top his amazing plan. She was taken aback when he started to lean closer to her, as she automatically leaned towards him, like he was some kind of magnet. Just when they were inches apart and Lena's heart was beating with threehunded beats a second, he moved away and grabbed a slice of pizza instead, eating it coyly, like nothing had happened. She gaped at him, trying her best to throw a glare at him. Now that was evil. "You're so lucky Jenna would kill me if I put a pizza stain on the couch, otherwise that pizza would be in your face right now!" she smirked, scooting a little ways away from him. "Ohh and may I remind you that I can kick you out into that storm?" she added, not that she actually would. Cause she wasn't that evil. Nate shrugged, "I just thought that's what you were getting the dogs for that's all, for company?" he laughed again at her small pout; she was so adorable. Ah, so her Aunt worked as a nurse then, he assumed, she could be a doctor for all her knew. "Well then, if your Aunt's not around much, that gives you more time with the dog's," he said, "I wouldn't want to have to report you for neglection and animal cruelty," he added, though he knew Lena would never be the type to do that. He smiled at her next words, he was glad she wanted to make a good impression on Olivia, "Don't worry, she will like you," he nodded, "Well that is as long as your make sure to not say things like that to her," he winked. Yeah, he didn't think Olivia would take that very well. He grinned at her next comment, "Pssh, if I was a hypnotist I'd totally being able to hypnotise you," he widened his eyes in fake threat, almost like he was going to hypnotise her right then and there, even though he'd have absolutely no idea how to.
He wondered about her next comment. He was different to most guys their. He liked to think that was mainly cause he had to mature quite quickly due to his now lack of parents, and so was more responsible. But he knew it was also down to his morals that he'd been given. "Here's living proof we still exist," he smiled warmly. she seemed different to most girls their age also, he observed. Teenagers usually cared soully about reputation and what they looked like; Lena wasn't like that. Obviously she took pride in her appearance, but she wasn't obsessed. "I like you, y'know?" he said quite bluntly. Sure the words had been playing around in his head for a while, and now he just felt it was the right moment to say it. They'd got on amazingly well, and it felt rude of Nate not to tell her.
Nate managed to peek outside, the storm was still raging and it was pitch black now. He glimpsed down at his phone, it was nearing 7pm. He was quite concerned at how he was going to get home, at this time and in this weather. Obviously he'd have to walk, since it was only a few blocks away. He'd just have to wait it out and hope the weather would tone down. He pouted at her next words, "Okay fine, I'll stop," he sulked in a joking manner, and turned his face away from her, however vain it sounded, he wanted another compliment from her in turn for forgiveness. Nate had a full-blown smirk on his face right now, she'd reacted exactly as he wanted. "Whatever for?" he asked, oh so innocently. "Oh, cause I'm neglecting my date? Here," he said, leaning over and grabbing a peice of pizza for her and passing it over. His smirk fell however when she said she could kick him out, "Dang, that is a point. What can I do to make you forgive me?" he wondered aload, again teasing her.

Why is it that he always said the right things? "Well... I am."
she admitted. "Unfortunately dogs don't talk... or maybe I could teach them." she pondered. Nah, it would absolutely freak her out if she was talking to a dog, that only happened in children's movies. No way would Lena ever abuse or neglect her dogs. She would love them and spoil them! "Hey, these dogs will have the best lives a dog has ever lived, in history!" she stated, nodding her head to prove her point. "Would you stop hanging out with me if your sister didn't like me and asked you to stay away from me?" she asked, hoping the answer would be no, yet she would understand if he would. His sister was the only family he had here after all. "No, no, no you won't!" she laughed, shielding her eyes, in order to 'protect' herself from his non existing hypnotic powers. Guess the both of them were different than the others. Lena wasn't exactly your typical girl either. She didn't spend hours deciding what to wear, she didn't care if her nail broke, she didn't swoon over Robert Pattinson and she actually had a brain and put it to good use. "You're the only hope left for girls like me." she said with a chuckle. "Careful though, you're rare.. if you let everyone know, they might ravish you." she added with a grin. She blinked when he said he liked her.. well that was random, it made her smile nonetheless though. "Okay... that was blunt. But I like it.. and I like you too." she replied, though she was pretty sure it was rather obvious that she liked him. How could she not like him after all? The weather was getting on Lena's mind, what if it didn't calm down? Lena wasn't going to let Nate go out in these conditions, that'd be dangerous and she wasn't ready for him to get struck by lightning just yet. When he sulked she wanted to hug him, even if it was just a joke, but she held back. "Aw, don't be sad. If it makes you feel any better you can keep talking in third person and I'll just suffer in silence." she replied, giving him a warm smile. She gasped when he started his whole innocent act, as she crossed her arms over her chest. "For being a total jerk!" she said, snatching the pizza from his hands, still trying her best to hold onto the glare, which was getting harder and harder by the second. How could he get her forgiveness.... good question. "Well, I would suggest giving me that kiss after all, but that's not happening now." she said with a smirk, trying to make him feel guilty, which was making her feel kinda bad. Nate nodded with a smirk, somehow he was managing to say exactly the right things, "Uhuh, I thought as much," he grinned cheekily. She wanted to talk to the animals? "Woah there El, didn't have you done as a crazy," he said in a light tone, raising his hands in front of them and distanced himself. "Yeah they better do, or else I will be a total snitch," he informed her. He frowned at her next question. Nate valued Olivia's opinion as the greatest, and so he was a little confused. "I'm sure it'll never come to that," he answered briefly, he didn't want to push Lena away as soon as he had met her. He hoped she wouldn't make it too uncomfortable now. "Bah, calm down El, I promise not to hypnotise you," he smiled, pulling her hands away from her face, then lifted up his three first fingers on his left hand, "Scout's honour," he joked. He never was a scout, but he knew it was a used saying so said it anyway.
Nate was the sentimental kind of guy, he was into music, and would much rather spend time with his guitar alone in his room, then going out and getting off his head on drugs and drink like he knew some people did. He smiled, he was a rarity. "Pssh, since I'm so rare I can have a choice of who I have then right?" he joked in his reply. He blushed when she pointed out his bluntness. Nate wasn't one to release his feelings easily, Lena was evidently bringing out a different side to him. He blushed harder when she said she liked him too. "Uhm, I just thought you should know," he explained, though it was pretty obvious. He didn't exactly know what to say. He wasn't confident when it came to feelings.
Nate began to think about Olivia. Today was a Monday, a day in which she'd be doing her waitressing job at a local restaurant. Though Nate didn't exactly know which one; he just assumed he didn't know cause he hadn't asked though. His frown turned upside down (sorry xD) at her words, "Nope, don't worry, I was getting tired of doing that anyway," he smirked at the fact she would sacrifice herself for him. "But it's nice to know I have you wrapped around my little finger already," he winked. Obviously he didn't, but Nate was a teaser, evidently. He chuckled when she took the pizza and her comment of him being a total jerk. Yeah right, she loved it. "Oh yeah? And if I leaned in right now you'd push me away then?" he said quietly again, taking the pizza away from her hands and placing it in the box again. He leaned forward slowly, the faces getting excrutiatingly close.
